Look at the pictures. Do you know why the things were developed or invented?
A few years ago, Masaru lbuka, the head of Sony, was at a company planning meeting. Suddenly he had an idea. He stopped the meeting and asked everyone what would happen if Sony took away the recording function and speakers and sold headphones with a tape player instead. Almost everyone thought he was silly. Still, lbuka kept his idea and worked at it. The result, of course, turned out to be successful Sony Walkman.
Good ideas often start with a really silly question. Bill Bowerman was making breakfast one day. As he stood there making cakes for his son, he asked himself what would happen if he poured rubber(橡胶)into his cake iron(蛋糕模具).Later, he tried it and the result looked something like the bottom of most sports shoes we see today. Still, when he took this idea to several shoes companties, he was laughed at. In fact, every single company turned him down. Though rather disappointed, Bill went on to form his own company, making NIKE sports shoes.
We know today,of course, that each of these ideas caused a successful thing that has changed the way many of us live. The best questions are usually openended(开放的) and are often “Silly”, Chindren aren’t afraid to ask such questions, but adults usually are. Think how difficult the world might be if people never asked “silly” questions!

  面对地上的一大笔钱,你捡到后会怎么处理呢?还是先来听听Kate和Robert的对话吧。
Robert: Look at this,a man found $750,000! He returned
It and the owner thanked him with a phone call.
  Kete: You’re kidding! If I found $750,000, I wouldn’t
  Return it so fast.
Robert: Why? What would you do?
Kete: well, I’d go straight to Las Vegas(拉斯韦加斯,世界三大赌城之一)and try my luck there. I could double the money in day and keep $750,000 for myself.
Robert: You might also lose it all in a day, And then you could go to jail(监狱).
Kate: Hmm. You’ve got a point there. So, what would you to if you found lots of money?
Robert: Oh, you know me, Kate. I’m so honest that I scare myself sometimes. I’d take the money straight to the police.
Kete: I guess that wouldn’t be such a bad idea. Maybe the owner of the money would give you a big reward(回报).
